January Newsletter

Greeting in the wonderful name of Jesus from Belize, Central America.

This month, January 2007, the Joiner Family will be celebrating our sixth year on the mission field of Belize. We came to Belize not knowing anyone here, only having a name of someone who was interested in truth. In the past six years God has blessed us to build a beautiful headquarters church and a Christian school with the enrollment of forty students. These students are all members of our church. We have also purchased property and built a church in San Felipe. We are now looking to purchase property in Los Floras, where we have church in the home of the pastor. Please pray that God will provide this need as we have outgrown the home and are in real need of a church building. Property is costly in the Los Floras area and we are having a hard time finding property there. We know that God has the perfect place for us there. It is all in His time. We also have two preaching points down in the southern part of Belize. Punta Gorda, Toledo District. Please pray for these humble people that God will give us revival among them. These people are of the Mayan and Ketchie Indian tribes.

We have finally been able to get our residence in Belize. For the past five years we have been working here, using missionary workers permits. Workers permits have to be applied for and approved annually. It is always a hassle trying to get this done. We are thankful that this has been another milestone reached. A while back someone asked me how often we get to go home and if we ever get homesick. I had to honesty reply that Belize is home to my family and I. The hardest part is having my parents in the nursing home and when I call them, they always want to know when I am coming home.

I read where missionaries years ago actually would pack their belongings in a casket, signifying their commitment to the field of their calling. They were going to give their lives to the mission field. We now understand and have that same feeling. The people of this country have become our people. As we ride through unreached villages and towns, it can become so frustrating because I can only wonder if there will be enough time left to raise up ministers to go forth and win this country. But the need is not only here in Belize. God has begun to send us many Guatemalans who are receiving the Holy Ghost and are being rooted in truth.

We recently added up the cultures and countries that are represented in our churches. We have English, Creole, Mennonites, Chinese, Maya Indians, Ketchi Indians, Mestizo, and Spanish. Countries that are represented are America, Mexico, China, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and of course Belize. Who would ever dream that in the small country of Belize this would be? We came here not knowing how to be missionaries and still don't know a lot, but this one thing I have learned, is that Apostolic preaching will work any where in the world.

We are happy to announce our first Grand baby, a beautiful little girl. A new missionary is born! Markaly Joiner Our son Mark, who works with us here full time as a missionary, married one of our first converts in Belize two years ago. My wife and I, and our daughter, Haley, are enjoying our roles as grandparents and aunt. Haley, of course being the aunt.

Rev Sammy Frioux of Jeanerette, La. was with us in Oct. and did a great job preaching in our churches here. We have reaped from his ministry. On the 30th of November, Pastor Mark Smith of Purvis, MS, Pastor Rudy Thrasher of Columbia, TN, Pastor Daniel Stevens of Mountain View, AR, and Pastor Ivan Dowd of Glen Allen, MO, plus some of their church members, came to Belize on a cruise and we were able to pick them up and take them to our headquarters church. We had a special service with these good folks. A good time of preaching, singing, prayer, and fellowship was in order. Then we took them back to their cruise ship and they were on their way. What a pleasure it was to see our friends and to have them in a service with us.

We are always thankful for the men of God that visit us here. We have recently been blessed with the ministry of Pastor Mark Albernathy and his wife, Edna. Pastor Abernathy did some tremendous preaching and was used in the gifts. Thanks, my friend for taking time out of your busy schedule to be with us. You were a blessing! We also had Pastor Scott Wilson and his son, Jonathon, from Gonzales, Louisiana here with and we were blessed with their singing and preaching. Pastor Wilson was used mightily of the Lord. Thanks for obeying God Bro Wilson, we were blessed.

Special Prayer Requests and Needs:

1. We have a burden to start a church in the town of Orange Walk. Orange Walk is the second largest town in all of Belize. We are running a bus out of this town and we are bringing some families come from Orange Walk to our church in Guinea Grass. Please pray that God will open the doors for us in this town. We will need a building to get started and we know that God has the perfect place for his work to go forward.

2. The roads here are very bad and therefore the conditions of the roads take their toll on our vehicles. They just don't last a long time. We are desperately in need of a large passenger bus, as ours is worn out and has become a money pit of constant repairs. We are also in need of a passenger van for ours is also worn out. Both has been rebuilt and worked on over and over. Not many people here own vehicles, so to get them to church from the farms and other villages we must supply transportation. Please help us pray.

What has been done in the work of God here in Belize would not have been possible if it was not for our supporters who have faithfully supported us in finances and prayer. Only eternity will tell the story of how many souls have been reached because you have been willing to share our burden. GO is still in the Gospel!!! While all cannot go, you have made it possible for the Joiner family to work for God in Belize, Central America.

God Bless You All

News from Belize - October 2006

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus from Belize, Central America,

We are so happy to report the blessings of the Lord here in the country of Belize. We have been blessed to have several anointed ministers with us during the last several months. We are so grateful for the ministries that the Lord sends our way. The ministers always confirm what has been taught and preached before they came. Of course this is the purpose of the five fold ministries -for the perfecting of the saints. It is so exciting when you can see newborn saints growing from the teaching of Gods’ word. The digging out of a new church is tiresome and can drain you both physically and mentally.
But it is also the most renewing and refreshing thing there is to get the spirit soaring, is to see one growing in the Holy Ghost and receiving revelations that are relevant to spiritual growth. We know that Apostolic preaching works. Nothing can build up, strengthen, and make a strong church better than preaching. This is why we appreciate the ministry that comes down and ministers to us.
We were blessed as Pastor James Townley and family from Jennings, La. and Pastor and Sis. Jeff Phillips of DeRidder, La., paid us a visit and preached under such anointing. We had ten to receive the Holy Ghost in the crusade that we had with these brethren. Most of these that received the Holy Ghost were from our new work in Los Flores. This was agreat boost to the work there. Our ministers were enriched as we held a special session for them and they received sound teaching from both pastors. This session ended with a great time of prayer and travail. Sis. Phillips also blessed our ladies with a time of teaching for them. Family Camp just seems to get better and better each year. We had twenty to receive the Holy Ghost during our three-day camp. There was a great outpouring of His Spirit everyday. The last night of our camp was so powerful, with people receiving the Holy Ghost all over theTabernacle. People were laid out all over the floor speaking in tongues as God gave them utterance. Some may even compare it to Azusa Street but I would go all the way back to Acts the second chapter.
We had three couples that came to camp that were unmarried and were living in adultery. God convicted their hearts and I had my first three-couple wedding. The night after the wedding most of these prayed through. Thank you, Pastor Allen Upton and Sis. Upton from Sulphur, La. for coming down and preaching and teaching for our camp. Pastor Upton taughtour men daily while Sis. Upton taught our women. This was our first focused teaching session for our camp and it was awesome. Evangelist John Boone and family of Jayess, Ms. also came to be with us for family camp. Evangelist Boone was our night speaker and he was connected in the Holy Ghost. Evangelist Boone is a full time evangelist and we realize the sacrifice it was for him and his family to come here. For us, I assure you whatever the cost, it was worth it. Eternity will tell the story. Thanks, Bro and Sis. Boone, Savannah and Trenton for coming. Here in Belize, your name will always have a special meaning. We love you!
Our deep appreciation goes to Sis. Allison Stout for coming and having a special youth project for all the children during camp. Sis Allison is from Pastor Townley’s church in Jennings, La and she spent the summer with us and was a blessing to us all. Sis. Allison, you are special in Belize. Thanks Bro Townley for allowing her to come. Thanks Bro. and Sis. Stoute for letting your “baby” come to be with us for a second time. Our Christian school is up and running into our second year and is doing great. This year we have 40 students. We again announce this year that we are using ACE curriculum and are always searching for paces and material for the school. We are always in need of these things. While I understand that for some people Christian School is not all that wonderful, I will tell you it has been the salvation of our children. I would not trade it for anything. Please, if you have a burden for Christian schools and would like to help in the financial support of these children, it would be of a great blessing to our mission. Belize is a third world country and our people are very poor. Our school is offering them hope in this world and the world to come. We are excited to have Bro. Rick and Sis. Sherrina Montz from Sulphur, La., here working with us in the school this year. These are first class folks and they are being a big help to the mission. What has been done in the work of God here in Belize would not have been possible were it not for our supporters who have faithfully supported us in finances and prayer. Only eternity will tell the story of how many souls have been reached because you have been willing to share our burden. “GO is still in the Gospel!!!" While all cannot go, you have made it possible for the Joiner family to work for God in Belize, Central America. God Bless You All.

JANUARY 2006

Dear Friends of Missions,

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!
As we began a new year, we look back over 2005 and count our blessings. We have had a blessed year here in Belize with our churches. We have had around 40 to receive the Holy Ghost in 2005 and baptized around 30 in the wonderful name of Jesus.

CHRISTIAN ACADEMY & BIBLE SCHOOL

We have been working on the Christian Academy and Bible School this year as the Lord has provided the means and we are getting very close to finishing it. We were able to start our Christian school this year. If the children of our churches even get to attend school, they are subjected to false doctrine and are required to attend functions that we stand against. The teachers and leaders of the schools have ridiculed our children in front of their classes about doctrine and our standard of dress. One of our girls was spanked for standing up against other students concerning the oneness of the Godhead. Our children will no longer be counting beads or saying pagan prayers. They are learning the doctrine of truth as they are educated. Oh, what a difference an Apostolic School makes. We have seen a revival with our youth. We have fifty students and all but ten have the Holy Ghost and have been baptized in Jesus Name.

NOTE: We are searching for someone who is familiar with the A.C.E. program that would be interested in coming to Belize for a period of time and help run our school. This would include training our people to work in the school. If anyone is interested, we ask that you have the permission and approval of your pastor. Ideally, a married couple would be good, but not necessary.

FAMILY CAMP

Our family camp was a great success this year. All who attended left enriched and empowered by the preaching and by the anointing of the Holy Ghost that fell on the services. Many times we never got past the prayer service when the Holy Ghost would fall and with saints of God weeping, people would begin to receive the Holy Ghost. (Zion travailing) A big thanks goes to Pastor James Townley, Rev. Darien Hosch, Rev. Roger Herrington and Rev Sammy Friou for making our meeting a success. We were honored to have them with us.
